Staying true to your style in a corporate office can be a challenge. Before my current job in New York, I was always allowed to wear denim at my desk and was very much a “jeans girl.” Now that I’m on more of a “business casual” dress code, I’ve had to learn how to re-work my wardrobe for Monday-Thursday. But I still can’t wait to dust off my denim each and every Friday. Isn’t Casual Friday the best?!
I had the opportunity to try out Levi’s new shaping line of jeans, Levi’s Revel, and I have to say that I’m quite impressed. I filled out this questionnaire to figure out which style would be perfect for my body shape. Turns out, I’m a “bold curve” and there are at least 20 different washes I could choose from. Plus, they are comfortable and flattering! As someone who usually ends up spending three digits on a pair of jeans to get a great fit, I love that these are under $100!
I chose a dark rinse that would be perfect for the office. I’ve seen coworkers and fellow commuters interpret Casual Friday in a variety of ways, but I think it’s definitely important to error on the side of sophistication. You’re still at work, ya know?! Since my office A/C is usually blasting, layers are essential. I went with a stripe on stripe look with a crisp shirt and a linen blazer. It is summer after all! I topped (or bottomed) off my look with a pair of fun red pumps to add personality. Since I was already mixing prints on top and was wearing a bold shoe, I kept my accessories minimal.. Just a single bracelet!
