Caught in the Act with the Guardzilla All-in-One Security System

I received compensation and a free Guardzilla All-in-One Security Protection system in exchange for a product review. All opinions on the product are my own.

I was offered the opportunity to test the new Guardzilla All-in-One Security Protection system, and I immediately thought this could be a great product for our family.

Not only can I place the camera in any room of our house and monitor our girls via my Android smartphone, but the Guardzilla is a cost effective home security system for someone on a tight budget like me.

The Guardzilla system launched on January 18, 2015, and is available exclusively in Best Buy stores and online at bestbuy.com. The $99.99 system features a camera with 89° field of view, motion sensing technology with siren alert, pet immunity, night vision, SD card slot, and 2 way audio to allow users to talk remotely with someone near the Guardzilla camera.

Installation is super simple. You simply plug the camera into an available power outlet, download the Guardzilla App for your iPhone or Android device, and connect the Guardzilla system to your home Wi-Fi. The Guardzilla App will walk you through the complete setup process and allow you to set email and/or text alerts when motion is detected.

The SD card slot (card not included) allows you to record all the time or only when the alarm is triggered. This is a great way to provide video footage to the police if someone breaks into your home. I plan to set the Guardzilla to record continuously the next time we go on vacation and have a house sitter.

Within a matter of minutes we had the camera setup in my 5 year old’s room and the app working on both of our Samsung Galaxy phones. Both of my daughters like to hang out in big sister’s room while I’m in the kitchen fixing lunch or running about the house doing chores.

I caught my oldest daughter jumping on her bed when she was supposed to be cleaning her room.

I also caught my 1 year old turning on her sister’s TV and Wii then stealing the remotes. No wonder we can never find the remotes when we need them. You can also see big sister’s room wasn’t cleaned like I asked!

The most interesting find of all happened late at night after my 5 year old thought everyone was asleep. I set the Guardzilla to armed before retiring to the bed to read a book on my phone, and shortly after midnight I received an alert text. I pulled up the app and saw my 5 year old awake watching a movie! I showed her the photos and she realized she was busted!

Overall the camera works great, and I’m considering the purchase of a second camera for our main living space. For more information about Guardzilla via the Guardzilla Facebook page or on Twitter @my_guardzilla.
