Get Outdoors and Enjoy Nature!

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own as always.

It may be hard to believe, but surrounding Walt Disney World are untouched areas of forest, swamps and vegetation. My family and I love to sit outside our hotel room, listen to the crickets and look out for rabbit, ducks and wild turkey. After a long day of Disney attractions and long lines it’s so relaxing especially to look at the stars. When we’re driving in Disney World right around dusk, we often spot deer too. At some of the resorts we have seen alligators, turtles and fish in the swamps and lakes.

Going outdoors and enjoying nature can be done almost anywhere. In cities look out for parks and botanical gardens. Of course, national forests, state parks and wildlife refuges are the go-to places for nature. Hiking, camping, swimming, are just some of the activities you can delight in.

Discover the Forest is a website that encourages you to get outdoors. It provides a map for you to locate forests and other outdoor areas in your area. Just put in your zip code and see what you find. When I did that I found a garden nearby that I had never heard of. I plan on visiting it very soon.

Here’s a guide on how to make fire starters for camping. Please remember to put out the fire completely before you leave:

For a discussion on nature, join @Cheecker and @kimorlando for a fun Twitter Party all about the outdoors with the US Forest Service at 1 p.m. ET on June 26th.

I hope this video entices you to get outdoors and have fun:
