creative diaries 25 : corina nika
I’ve been following the flourishing work of Corina Nika for some time now. Her blog, Cocorrina, provides the perfect backdrop for a daily dose of beautiful photography, snippets from her life on Kefalonia Island, and a whole lot of good design. Seriously, you should go stop by. ;) For this creative diary entry, she was to focus on one single work day and answer a few simple questions about the good, the bad, and the inspiring. This is what happened, truthfully.
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING THAT YOU DID THIS MORNING Every morning, i wake up 30 minutes before i start getting ready for the day. Although it counts for less sleep, i get to start my day in an inspiring, non stressful way. No emails are allowed. Instead, i browse through Pinterest, Instagram, catch up with Twitter and quickly browse my go to blogs while having some tea and cookies on the couch.
DESCRIBE ONE CHALLENGE THAT YOU FACED Today, was one of the most difficult days, in terms of schedule. Sometimes, no matter how good your organise your schedule, things just get out of hand. My challenge was completing all the client projects as scheduled, and firing in the day some me and family time.
DESCRIBE ONE ACCOMPLISHMENT Sticking to my timer! I always calculate the amount of time i have to spend working on every project, and the amount of time i get to have a break. Although lots of times i do loose the track of time, whenever my day is as tight as today, not a second slips my hands.
DESCRIBE ONE THING YOU LEARNED To be polite. I’ve talked a lot about how being polite would make our world such a better place. It’s something that comes naturally to me, but my challenge is to be polite and show kindness even when someone doesn’t deserve it.
WHAT IS THE LAST THING YOU DID FOR WORK Today i got to work on one of my favourite rebrands ever. Always leave dessert for the end :) It’s a gorgeous mix of modern ethnic, classic, fun and natural at the same time. That project captivated me from the very beginning, since it’s so much fun playing with ethnic patterns and all.
AND JUST FOR FUN, DID YOU EAT ANYTHING TASTY Yes! I’ve turned into a passionate breakfaster through the past month. So i completely love having a royal breakfast to get me through the day. Today i had a bowl of oat, raisins, honey and fresh pomegranate.
