Girls Getaway
So some of my girlfriends and I have been planning a little overnight getaway for a while now. We finally took the plunge and did it. We planned a craft, a movie and yummy food, what else could a girl ask for, right?
By the time we left all the kiddos with the husbands and drove to our little getaway it was time for dinner. Perfect way to start off our fun night.

It was a decadent dinner including the Pioneer Woman's amazing Mashed Potatoes, and Chicken Madeira with asparagus.
We then pulled our craft out and went to town...it was a night of sparkles and glitter! All the girls hard at work
It was fun to let go and not worry about chores, work or kids for once. We let our creativity flow, Tara even made kissy lips.

Since I didn't participate in the craft I thought what could be better than some warm cookies fresh from the oven!?
After the craft we took advantage of the long wood floors by seeing who could slide the furthest, I think Shaylee won!
We had fun just chatting and laying low, whether it was on the carpet, couch or rugs we were having a good time.
We ended the night with a head stand contest, I don't remember who won this, Tara or Shaylee?! And yet some more chatting! We were shocked when we looked at the clock and it said almost 3 AM! I can't even remember staying up that late.
We all made our way up and got breakfast going late that morning, I decided doing my mini german pancakes would be easiest and still yummy!
It was pretty good stuff!
We decided to be lazy and watch the movie we didn't get to watch the night before. A perfect fit for our girls weekend, Pitch Perfect!
We started to clean up and finish our crafts and enjoyed our last meal of the getaway, a yummy BBQ chicken salad...

Of course, what would a girls weekend be without one more fun game, leg wrestling. Tara and Stephanie dominated!
It was such a fun weekend we didn't want to leave, we decided we must do it again but maybe for an extra day. It was fun to let loose and be young and carefree again, even if only for a night. I have to say, I am so lucky and feel so blessed to have such good friends and neighbors. Never did I think that when we moved into this house the most valuable thing we gained was our cul-de-sac.
