Free Printable Motivational Watercolor Art!

Lately I’ve been trying to concentrate a lot more on blogging, freelance writing, illustrations, my Etsy shops, and anything else I can do that will allow me the flexibility to work from home, and moreover, to travel. If there is one thing I can think of that I am really excited about (besides eating…), it’s traveling. Going places that I haven’t been and seeing and experiencing things that I wouldn’t be able to if I stayed in one place.

I’ve always loved to travel, but not long ago, it became a lot clearer to me that this was a very important part of my life. In 2012 I left my home in Seattle and drove with one of my best friends, Rachael, halfway across the country to Oklahoma City. I lived with her there for a year and then in 2013, drove back from OKC to Seattle (#OKCtoSEA on Instagram if you want to see some pictures!). The whole thing was an exceptional experience, and really opened my eyes to the fact that I want to travel more. A lot more. And the (3 week long!) road trip by myself was the best thing I’ve ever done. I stopped at all of the places I wanted to stop (The Grand Canyon! Ventura! Yosemite National Park! The secluded beaches of Crescent City! The giant redwoods of Klamath National Forest!) and did all of the things that I felt like doing there, at my own pace. It was so freeing and so gratifying. My mom calls me “the vagabond”, and I must admit, I have dreams of just hitting the road full time and traveling from place to place.

Since I quit doing hair in December, I’ve been in slight panic mode all of the time, trying to figure out what I want to DO with my life, and I just keep coming back to “travel”. So, as I mentioned, I’m concentrating on things I can do, which will afford me the flexibility to go places, and not be tied to one physical spot (just to my laptop!). I’m not making much money at it right now, but I feel like if I keep at it, maybe I can. As anyone who works for themself knows, it requires a lot of work, every day. Pretty much nonstop. And it can be hard to stay on track, and hard to stay motivated. And it’s hard to do your best every time. Sometimes you just want to phone it in. But I figured, if it’s worth doing, then it’s worth putting in your best effort and doing it right. Something I keep telling myself is “Don’t half-ass this. Use your WHOLE ass.” So I created these two little “Use your whole ass” and “hustle” pieces to hang up, so I can look at them and remind myself.

I thought you all might like these, so I want to offer them to you as well! Hang these little motivational art prints next to your desk in your office, or wherever you need the most inspiration. Obviously, these sentiments don’t JUST apply to entrepreneurship, they can apply to anything that you want to do. I often have to remind myself not to do a half-assed job when folding laundry or vacuuming, too. If you want a spiffy, ready-made art print, you can order one on Etsy. But, if you want to download the printable version and do it yourself, you can get a high quality (300dpi) 8×10 right here! If you’d like to purchase a different color, just let me know and I’ll make it happen!

I’m offering a “pay what you want” or “name your own price” format here. If you think these are delightful and useful and you can afford to be generous, I encourage you to pay whatever they are worth to you! (Payments are secure, via PayPal)
