* Exercising beforehand. (I'm still doing
Revolt)
* Listening to a guide or music. I love
this one.
* A pillow.
I have this one. Or, you can
make your own.
Tips: * Have a routine. Even if you don't meditate at the same time everyday, have a process. Drink a cup of tea, slowly, just before. Open all the windows. Do something nice for yourself, then do it before you meditate every time.
* Go to a guided class. Some around where I live are held in the most beautiful offices or studios in the heart of the city. Also, some classes I've found are pay by donation, too. So, if you've got $5 and some free time, go! Then if you like it, pay a bit more if you can the next time.
*Have a buddy. You can meditate together by sitting in the same room, or by agreeing to meditate at the same time. This is fabulous for long distance friends; it makes me feel connected to my soul sister and is so clarifying.
*Use an app. I like
for Android users:
Meditation Helper,
Buddhist Meditation Helper, and
Insight Timer (there is a free version of this timer, but I couldn't find the link to it!)
for iPhone:
The Mindfulness App and
Simply Being Do you meditate? What works for you?
