what I owe to Emily.

So much. I owe this wonderful soul so much because of what she has brought to my life. She is superb when it comes to keeping in touch. This means we may not talk for weeks, but still send one line emails to each other, because we are soul sisters and that's what we do--keep in touch each other in the forefront of our hearts. Most recently, she sent me this:
This tumblr is like eating ice cream straight from the carton. Just had to share... http://clementinevonradics.tumblr.com
And now I owe her my thanks for any feeling of contentment I've felt in the past few days. This woman's poetry speaks to my heart in a way a very best friend speaks to you on your worst day.

Clementine von Radics
"I wanted to stop writing love poems until I realized everything ever written is a love poem, or at least I think so. It’s all onebig desperate bellow to the skyline and a whisper into his hairas he is falling asleep."
"Like the earth and moon I am coveredwith craters and scars. That is not somethingI need to be saved from."

"Out east beyond the city it’s quiet, and the front porch still reminds me of your hand on my shoulder. In the living room, Johnny Cash is singing on the radio about the beer he had for breakfast. The beer I had for breakfast was Tennessee whiskey. The sun is squinting at my bad decisions.
I’m trying to dry out, but I’m worried my hands will shake too hard to write. I’m worried I will earthquake from my body. I wonder what you’d think if you saw me now.
If you read this, I’m doing just fine. I’m still a sheep in wolf’s clothing. I’m still struggling with all the old questions. I’m still trying to love everything put in front of me to love. I’d still give anything to hear you call me Darlin’. If you read this, and you’re thinking of me, know I’m thinking of you too."
