Summer of love: hot new looks from Minkpink

With the latest arrivals from edgy womenswear label Minkpink, we're not just looking ahead to the summer season, we're looking ahead to a sort of modern summer of love, with a hot new collection that draws on all the hippie charm of the summer of '67.

The spirit of the time was all about freedom, peace and love, with Woodstock, gatherings in San Francisco, and love-ins to end the Vietnam war. But that's a vibe that's come back today, from Coachella caravans to equal rights campaigns, and even a reborn interest in all things independent.

And as bohemian attitudes make their comeback, we're starting to see them reflected everywhere, including fashion — especially in this latest effort from Minkpink.
The label's summer 2014 collection takes on a carefree, artsy feel, with retro-inspired, kaleidoscopic prints, free flowing silhouettes and psychedelic color. Crazy hippie prints festoon looks like their Watercolor Tiles Top and not-quite-bellbottom Watercolor Tiles Palazzo Pant.

But while there's a lot of retro 60s inspiration in this latest collection, Minkpink has been free to borrow from other eras too, with 80s and 90s references in styles like their printed Personality Crisis Leggings and faded denim Funday Sunday Dress.

But whatever decade being drawn on, Minkpink's summer lineup is a fun homage to being young, liberated and just a tad rebellious at the best and hottest time of the year.
