Bombas: One Pair Purchased = One Pair Donated

This post is sponsored by Bombas.

Good morning, friends!

With all of the running I have done lately as part of my training for the Boston Marathon, I am so glad that I recently discovered Bombas, an athletic sock that gives back.

Bombas are awesome during my runs because they keep my feet feeling nice and comfortable, mile after mile, but they’re also great because the company is on mission to help those in need.

For every Bombas sock purchased, the company donates a pair to someone in need. Don’t you love that? They’re like the TOMS of the sock world!

Did you know socks are the number one piece of clothing requested at homeless shelters? When I ran with Back on My Feet, I actually remember a few of the residents at Team Quincy talking about needing new socks, so I think it’s wonderful that Bombas has donated so many pairs of socks (over 300,000) to those in need since launching in October 2013. Here’s a great video with more information about their donations and impact.

Ok, so let me tell you about these socks… and be sure to keep reading for a sweet discount on them!

What I love most about Bombas is that they stay up and don’t slip down. Don’t you hate that, like when you’re in the middle of a workout or wearing boots? So annoying, right? Well, Bombas won’t slip down, but they’re not too tight either.

The company actually spent two years on research and development and specifically tested 133 different tension levels to arrive at the perfect one to make sure their socks stay up. There’s also a Y-shaped stitch on the heel of the sock that creates a natural cup around your heel to keep it in place. Truthfully, I never thought so much about socks until now, but it’s obvious Bombas did the work and created an awesome product that really says put. I’ve worn my Bombas for all kinds of workouts—from super sweaty, high-intensity CrossFit workouts to 90-minute long runs and they didn’t slip or slide down at all.

Another feature that I especially love in the ankle sock is the “blister tab,” which basically acts like a tiny ankle cushion and prevents any sort of chaffing or rubbing when you work out. This is especially important when I am running for hours and hours during my marathon training. (FYI: The ankle socks run a little big in my opinion. I ordered a medium because I am usually a size 7, but the small socks fit a lot better.)

As far as the actual feel of the sock, Bombas are really comfortable and made with soft cotton (Long Staple Pima Cotton), which is warm in the winter and cool in the summer with natural moisture wicking. They’re thick, but not crazy thick. I’d actually say they’re more on the thin side, but not flimsy by any means. They definitely feel like a high-quality sock.

And, finally, the honeycomb pattern that you see on these socks provides extra support and thickness around the arch of your foot where you need it most. But, it doesn’t feel constricted or anything like that—it’s just plain old comfortable and exactly what you’d want in a sock.

So, that’s what Bombas are all about. I’m so glad that I had a chance to try these socks. They’re really great, and I will definitely wear them for my workouts in the future. And, of course, I love that the company gives back and helps those in need with every purchase of their socks.

Do you want to try Bombas for yourself? You can get 20% off your purchase using code CARROTSNCAKE20 (applies to your first order of any size).

    Question of the Day

What kind/style/color socks do you prefer for your workouts?
