How fashion week can create content for your blog all month

Fashion week can be a great form of content for your blog. Seen a show you absolutely love, a dress that you hated or a makeup trend that is perfectly stunning? Write about it. But that’s just the start: after a couple of days you can still get lots more mileage by following up.

With the crazy fashion week circus that’s getting ready to begin again, it’s good to think of the blogging opportunities that come along with it. The men’s shows (with skirts all over the place) have just been finished and the women’s are in full swing.

Follow one of these trends and get more fashion-hungry visitors to your blog.

A who-is-who of new model faces
We all know the hilariously funny faces of Cara Delevingne, the style evolution of Kendall Jenner from dorky teenager to gorgeous super model and the unbelievable long limbs of Karlie Kloss by now. But who are the new faces that surfaced this season? Discuss on your blog if you think it’s Aya Jones, Julia Bergshoeff, Roos Abels, Molly Bair or Vanessa Moody who can add her name to the list of supers in a couple of years.

It’s time for a poll!
Want to definitely decide who was the best dressed, who had the best hair and makeup and who had the most creative outfit? Use a free online tool to create a quiz. It will give you two posts: one announcing the quiz, and one announcing the winner.

Spot the street style icons
You see three or three women wearing something similar? Well done, you’ve spotted a trend! At the last edition of the Golden globes, a lot of women looked a lot like the chacha emoticon – you know, the woman in the red flamenco dress. Et voilà, a new trend is born.

The best shoes at the shows
In the couple of weeks during show season you see a lot of clothes passing by. But it’s not only the clothes that are worth watching: if you focus on the details you’ll see that also the shoes are worth closer inspection. The fiery heels we’ve seen at Prada in 2012, the shoes that were worn by Alexander McQueens deep-sea aliens in 2009, or the modern gladiator shoes at Erdem last September definitely deserve a place in the spotlight.

A fashion abc
A stands for Azzedine Alaïa, B for Balenciaga, C for Chanel, you get the gist. An abc is an easy yet very effective way to discuss all the big trends, exiting designers and models who walked the most shows this season.

The different faces in fashion
In the midst of all the madness, it’s the people behind the scenes who make the fairytale of fashion come true. Why not shine a light on the man behind the Burberry playlists (that get send to the attendees just after the show), artists like Pat McGrath who create mesmerizing makeup and model makers like Russel Marsh and Ashley Brokaw who can make (or break) the next big supermodel.

A short history lesson
Rick Owens made a very provocative statement on the runway by showing the penis in all its glory, but when did someone make an unforgettable statement before that? If you can refer to his previous fashion shows (the one he cast models of the street, or when he painted them all white to resemble an army of ghosts), you can write a strong article about evolving fashion.

Happy fashion-visitor hunting!
