Tucked Away

While the rest of the world was preparing for holiday festivities in mid-December, I was tucked away in my own little bubble, which I was so glad to have shared with my favourite person (in the whole, wide world) for the seven days he was in Toronto. Seriously–food galore, Christmas shopping, hanging out and *cuddling*–ya know, fun holiday couple-y stuff. It was nice. And then life became considerably less chill with the onslaught of holiday retail madness aka Boxing week. But a girl’s gotta make a living, non? Luckily I survived the mobs of eager shoppers and tempting sales and made it to New Year’s Eve, wherein I kicked off the new year with friends, vodka and dancing to Beyoncé all night long–Drunken Love indeed!

Lately, I’ve been preparing myself for a new semester by playing around with my new baby–a Canon 70D–since my first class back is Topics in Fashion Photography. I’ve also been savouring my free time by sleeping in until noon, watching copious amounts of Breaking Bad, and eating a concerning amount of sweet and salty kettle-corn, my ultimate guilty pleasure.

As for my navy blue obsession–it’s been building up for a while. As an all-black-er’thang enthusiast, I slowly found myself looking for a close alternative. Navy appealed to me because although it is often mistaken for black, it gives off a different kind of elegance…something a little more scholarly, with a certain kind of poise that parallels classic noir. It was just a matter of finding the perfect navy thing to add to my wardrobe, and this cozy merino turtleneck was the ticket.

Wearing a Babaton turtleneck, Margiela-inspired rings from eBay and Essie nail polish in Midnight Cami.
