Stylish Scissor Storage
Today's quickie project is my Stylish Scissor Storage.
I got this clever idea from Laurel at "
The North End Loft" when I saw that she jazzed up an old coffee mug tree to hang her scissor collection on.
About a year ago I found a mug tree at the local Goodwill store and put it away to work on at another time. Of course I forgot to take a picture of the original state the mug tree was in, but it was your standard issue brown, wood mug tree.
Recently I did get around to painting the stand, but finally today I added the buttons on the bottom of it where there had been an old piece of grass cloth glued to a circular area on the base which I removed before spray painting it. I wasn't sure what I would do with this circular area, but my thoughts kept telling me to put buttons on it. Since I have a fair amount of white buttons, I figured this would be the chosen color to use. The green color of the tree mug is Rust-Oleum's EDEN Green which I had leftover from my recent
Ironing Board Makeover project.
If you're in need of a clever way to store your scissors, keep your eyes open for a mug tree at your local thrift store.
Happy Crafting!!!
