Camel coat

When thrift shopping, sometimes you just get a feeling.

This winter I'd been obsessing over getting a camel coat. Every other person in the world who had one was only making me want one more. I felt like all my 'outfit block' would just melt away if I only had a camel coat.

I never shop at Goodwill. I prefer the smaller, local charity shops, however as I drove by the Goodwill a couple weeks ago, I had a feeling I should stop. I walked in and made a beeline to the outerwear. I didn't have to spend much time searching before I found this J.Crew camel peacoat, size petite small. Wool/Nylon/Cashmere blend, $16.

The smart thing to do would have been to leave immediately, but of course I shopped more. I found this striped L.L.Bean tee for $10, and a funky vintage sweater for $6.

Fun fact: last month was the coldest February on record. No wonder I was so fixated on having a new coat.
