The Birthday Excuse!

Oh well! ..So there was a birthday (or two.. My husband’s was yesterday) and as per usual for this time of the year I went a bit cray over the weekend! I undid (most of) my savings while buying more-than-necessary number of things, which was also served as a “reward” for pulling off a successful restraint over the previous months!

I had initially planned not to buy any makeup (ha!) but coincidently found myself in front of a Chanel counter one day (totally unplanned). I spent a good hour trying to figure out what to get (Chanel does that to you!) and while a few things that I wanted were not in stock, I also couldn’t decide between two blushes, Malice #71 (peachy pink) and Jersey #80 (muted beige). Birthday and an exceptionally generous husband later, I had both of these in my possession and I may have shed a *tear*. More on the blushes very soon!

A week back I had placed a “well thought out” order for L’occitane Almond Milk Veil (also thanks to a generous discount voucher) and that arrived a day before my birthday. This smells EXACTLY like the über good Almond Shower Oil and it is as delightful to use. I have terribly dry skin at the moment and nothing (not even the Body Butters from TBS) seems to work. I have used this a few times already and a new favorite may have been discovered!

A few repurchases were in order which were finally committed in the spirit of the birthday! I had run out of my Kerastase Elixir Ultime back in October and my (hair) life was just not the same without this. (The other variants that I’ve tried are nowhere as good). I am ecstatic to be reunited with this again!

Avene Thermal Spring Water is an everyday essential which I run out at the same rate as toilet paper (qualified expression). Given that I nearly spray-wet my entire self with this everytime, I may have to start keeping back-ups.

I finally finished off my tiny tube of L’occitane hand cream (anything in the hand bag has an eternal lifetime). I was eager to try something from Crabtree & Evelyn and a hand cream seemed like a good place to start. This is a standard Lavender smell and I haven’t used it yet. Hopefully its as good or better than my old one!

I also got a very pretty something from my Husband which I forgot to photograph. Will put it up soon!

I hope you had a great weekend too!
