Favorites Of The Year | Lipsticks

I know I know 2014 isn’t over yet and its probably not the time for this but guys I am too excited! I need to talk favorites now because hell knows I have waited for this long enough! The recap posts every year are my favorites and now that I can do one of my own, whose gonna stop me eh?

Kicking things off with lipsticks! None of them are 2014 releases, have been around for long but some were new to me and some I love so much I had to feature them One.last.Time!

The Special Ones : YSL Rouge Pur Couture No. 4 Rouge Vermilion. My wedding lipstick, a pretty raspberry red and the go-to for special occasions if I don’t have to wear a red. This is probably the only bright lipstick I can wear with confidence be absolutely sure that it’ll look great! Another comfortably bright is the YSL Glossy Stain in No. 12 Corail Fauve, which is a pinky coral in the tube and settles into an almost reddish coral on the lips. Also, this is the closest to a lipgloss that I can wear happily! Its beautiful with a tan and an absolute beach-staple! See it in action here.

The Everyday Ones : Oh these are the ones you are probably sick of seeing here because if there is one thing I love, then its a good my lips but better lipstick! I discovered plenty of favorites including the MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Glamour Era which I wouldn’t say another word about Ok? Anyways thats that and the other one which is an old old favorite, Nars Tzigane. I know Nars have come out with the Audacious lipsticks which people cannot get enough of, but these dear people are lipsticks that made Nars so special to me! Beautiful buttery formula, fairly pigmented and amply hydrating, these would forever remain my go-to lipsticks!

The No-Mirror-Needed Ones : These are also my “handbag lipsticks”. Balmy, hydrating, just enough color for on the go. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Liberte is the more luxury one of the two and also the peachier. MUFE Rouge Artist Natural #15 is a more pinky version which looks really red but comes off more like a balmy pink on the lips. I love them both, just enough pigment to not be invisible and enough hydration to not need a lip balm. Perfect no-mirror-no-problem lipsticks!

The Lip Balm Lipstick : I know you were waiting for this, The Dior Lip Glow! How could it not feature here? Such a pain to get hold of, very tempting to buy backups of but so insanely expensive that it hurts! They apparently have a coral one now as well which is making me veryyyy excited!

The Multi Tasker : RMS Lip2cheek was a new addition to my stash and I am so happy I did! These dinky pots of rouge have been around for a while and when I finally decided that no amount of math could stop me from getting these (the pots are tiny but the price is not!) I realised how amazing these are! Extremely pigmented, creamy, moisturizing and beautiful colors! I have Modest a deeper coral which works beautifully as a blush and perfectly on the lips but with a lip balm. You can read my review here.
