Gratitude in an Original Song

A wonderful reminder of gratitude in an original song by a young guitarist and singer.

A little something different today…

“Mum, a girl at school wrote a song and did a music video of it. It’s really, really good!”

I sat down at the computer with my middle schooler (M) and clicked over to YouTube to watch the girl pluck and strum her guitar, and bust out an original song that she named Happy. Her name is Elle Tracy and she sings of gratitude. Gratitude for friends and family, gratitude for the blessings of having a roof over her head and food on the table and gratitude for the place she’s in and where she’s going to be.

Her message hits home in a world that is filled with tumult. Sometimes we need to step back and count our blessings, be grateful for both the big things and the little things that shed a positive glow over the day and make us feel that we can go out and make a difference.
