MAC Rocky Horror Picture Show Collection

I stalked and stalked and stalked for this collection. If you followed this at all, you know there were delays so people were stalking the site for a couple of days trying to score some goodies. Luckily I got everything I wanted, as others weren’t so lucky. I LOVE The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and I knew I would be indulging in this.

I actually ended up buying a few things I hadn’t intended to buy.

I adore the packaging for this. The only thing that would have been better for me personally would have been to have FrankNFurter’s face on the blush and sculpting do, and maybe even in the blush itself like the Marge Simpson blushes. Here are my thoughts on these, though I don’t know if these can even be found anymore. Just about everything sold out the first few hours, and the in store release (and only at select MAC stores) was yesterday. So yeah, your best bet at this point is sheer luck or makeup groups.

Here is what I bought and my thoughts on them:

Sculpt and Shape Powder – These are nice for a subtle effect, but on me (and I’m not very dark) these don’t show up that strongly. I still like them enough to use it until it is gone, but it’s not an item I would repurchase. I was hoping to chisel out some killer cheekbones like FrankNFurter with these. Not gonna happen. I am wearing both in the lipstick swatch pictures below.

Crazed Imagination Blush – This is a pretty unique color to my collection, and I wasn’t sure if I would like it. When it showed up though, I immediately fell for it. It is not as wearable as other shades I have, but with the right eyeshadow it will look great. I am wearing it in the lipstick swatch pictures below.

Bad Fairy Nail Polish – I didn’t indulge in this when Venomous Villains came out, but this time around I decided that I had to have it (oh those impulse purchases!). Glad I picked it up, because the shade it just gorgeous. The formula was nice too. Two coats was all I needed. This flashes orange and gold depending on how you look at it.

Formidable Nail Polish – So pretty, this is also from Venomous Villains. This was another impulse buy, and I am glad I bought it. So pretty with it’s flashes of purple and teal.

It’s Not Easy Having a Good Time – I love pigments, and I love MAC pigments. And I love red pigments! So of course I had to have this one. It is really pretty, though I suspect I have a dupe in my stash. If I do you can rest assured I will share it with you.

Oblivion – A pretty raspberry red in MAC’s Amplified finish. Love this shade.

Strange Journey – A simple stunning orange red lipstick in a matte finish. I love orange reds so much. This is far and away my favorite from the three I bought. Kicking myself for not backing it up.

FrankNFurter – Aaahhh, the lipstick that sold out online in 12 minutes. I actually bought two, but a fellow MAC junkie that I know wasn’t able to snag one so off it goes to her. It is a deep blood red in a matte finish, and is vampier than the other two. I like it, but it is one of those reds I wear less often. Still, I quite like it.

Overall I thought this was a fun collection, though I would have loved to have seen fewer permanent items in it. I am glad I was able to snag everything I did. If you were stalking, did you get anything?
