Week 13 – 2015

These days have been more like Fall than Spring in The Netherlands; rain, strong winds, cold. I can’t deny the weather is influencing my mood and tempo. Which in this case means I would rather stay in bed and hibernate.

By candle light and roaring fire place I started working on another pattern for my stash-busting project. When in one of my LYS in Hilvarenbeek last weekend, I came across this book. It is originally German and translated to Dutch. There were about 4 projects that immediately caught my attention, which is enough for me to get it and have a closer look at home with hook and yarn in my hand.

The baby blanket pattern reminded me of the Bergere de France yarn I have in my stash; Sonora. Back home I immediately started crocheting and I absolutely love how these squares are coming together. With help from a scale I calculated how many squares I would be able to make without getting extra yarn, and it will be just a little blanket for our future baby girl. With the left over yarn I plan to make a matching shawl for myself. Or may be another blanket… I will keep you posted.

Dutch and Belgian ladies, have you signed up for the cable crochet demonstration workshop next Saturday yet? There are a couple spots left and it is going to be a lovely and fun afternoon full of crochet and laughter, tea coffee and treats. Look here for more information or contact Martine.

Between finishing projects and a busy calendar this week I am not sure I’ll have more time to blog this week. Just in case I don’t, a very happy and sunny Easter to you and your family!
