A PEEK IN OUR LIFE.

Since having this sweet heaven sent little boy come into our lives, my life has changed very dramatically. It hasn’t been an easy change, but it has been the hardest most amazing change I have ever made. I am not one to like change. I like to know what is going to happen and how everyday is going to go, what time I need to be places, and exactly what is going to come throughout the day good or bad. We all know that can’t happen and when you throw a sweet little one into the mix, it makes it so you have no schedule. Your schedule completely relies on what they want and what they do.

This has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. It has made me go with the flow more. Not be so stuck in my ways. Let my stubbornness die down a little bit. And most of all not let the world revolve around me.

I think the hardest thing that I have had to find time for is working. Yes I go to my nursing job twice a week still and teach dance two nights a week still, but it’s this little blog of mine that seems to get placed on the back burner these days. With Zach’s church calling in the bishopric, it has him serving our church 2 nights a week. He gets home from work for maybe 45 minutes on a good day, eats dinner, changes, and heads out the door until 9 or 10. This leaves me and squishy baby King by ourselves at night a lot. Which is totally fine! I love that we get to spend so much time together. I just have had to find new ways to work for the nights that I am not teaching dance. (I mean, I could go to bed late or wake up early, but who wants to lose precious sleep time!?)

I can’t head into the office and sit at the computer anymore unless King is napping (which is rare these days, he seems to like to give me a run for my money), or Zach is home. I tried to hold my laptop on my lap, bounce him with one arm, and type with one arm. Let’s just say that was very unproductive and an awful idea! I saw a commercial for the HP Pavilion x360 and I knew it would make my life so much easier. It can be used as a tent, a tablet, a stand, or as a regular laptop. I mean amazing. And they are going on tour with Megan Trainor and she pretty much is amazing! They are using these amazing laptops to document the tour with the help of her fans!

So here is a little run down of our day. I hope to give you a more detailed post in the next few weeks, but here is a quick one because I have had a bunch of people ask and I have never written one on here yet!

(This is for the days that I don’t work my nursing job and we are home)

6:30 King wakes up for the day to eat. Zach feeds him while I pump and then King and I go back to sleep and Zach gets ready for work.

8:30-9:00 I get up and head downstairs to work on some emails, edit pictures, write posts, and catch up on TV shows while King sleeps upstairs. I also try to get a load of laundry started that hopefully I don’t forget about and have to rewash a million times because I forgot to hang it up or dry it.

10:30-11:00 King wakes up to eat and I pump. Then we both get dressed and ready for the day. If he isn’t fussy I try to workout before we get ready, but if he is, then that gets skipped for the day. I try to get him to take a nap while we watch Netflix together. I use the laptop in the tent and it gives me both arms to bounce King or hold his binky in.

12:00-1:00 I eat lunch and hopefully have 2 arms to make it with if King is napping. If not I eat whatever I can snag while holding King, bouncing him, and trying to make something with one arm. I’m sure all of you moms can relate! If you have any yummy lunch ideas that can be made with the criteria above I would love to know! PB&J and protein bars on repeat is getting quite old… I also love to check the blogs that I read everyday and love that I can flip the laptop to tablet mode so I can read them and still hold King if he won’t nap.

2:30-3:00 King eats and yep you guessed it I pump! I try to get him to play on the floor while I figure out what we are going to have for dinner that night. Then he usually will take a nap and I can start another load of laundry or rewash the laundry that I forgot about earlier in the day ha. If he naps really well I can sometimes get a few emails answered.

5:00 I start making dinner and try to make it look like I got some things around the house done before Zach gets home from work.

5:45-6:00 Zach usually gets home from work and feeds King while I finish making dinner. I get him fed and I eat and yep, pump! Zach usually leaves around 6:30 for church meetings or soccer games. I clean up dinner and then play with King for awhile.

8:00 If Zach is home he baths King, if not I do. We bath him, put his pajamas on him and then feed him his last bottle for the night. If Zach is home then I answer emails, get the next days post ready, edit pictures, etc.

9:30-10:00 We put King down. Lately it has been taking him awhile to go to sleep so we spend a lot of time putting the binky back in, bouncing him, or staying in the room until he falls asleep.

10:30-11:00 Zach usually heads to bed while I answer emails, edit pictures, get posts written, and plan out the next weeks posts. I then clean up the house from everything that got neglected in the day and hopefully remember to move that last load of laundry that I started.

11:30-12:00 I get ready for bed and then head to bed to start it all again the next day!

While my life is pretty crazy and I am still not quite in the swing of things I wouldn’t change it for the world. The baby snuggles, kisses, laughs, and smiles are the best thing that happened to this momma! It is just going to take sometime to get into a routine and I know that just when we get into one, that it will change again and that is okay! I have the sweetest baby in the world, the most supportive husband and that is what matters in life!
