Red Continent Diner and Cafe- Legazpi City Review

Hello everyone So on 23rd December, I went to Legazpi and went to the newly opened Robinsons. I had fun food shopping for Christmas but I got really hungry after. I decided to grab a quick lunch at the restaurant right across Robinsons. I went to Red Continent Diner Café. It is located in old Albay district. I heard nice reviews from my classmates and so I decided to step foot to that place. They accept reservations but most customers just walk in there. Funny thing is- I just went in and sat. There was no hostess to guide me where to sit and nobody greeted me. :D Funny innit? Well, it’s the same as other restos here. The place is quite hip. It has red walls which I think is really cool. The menu was already on the table. I browsed it and I couldn’t find the food that I wanted. Its food is like a fusion of everything with Bicolano Cuisine. The food that was on the menu was good for 2-3 peeps. Good thing they have a separate menu for ‘single’ diners. I ordered Red Con Burger and Fries and Iced tea for 75 and a Volcano Chicken with rice and Iced tea. I asked details with the server but he seemed clueless. He asked his colleagues for other details and it was annoying. 5 minutes after ordering, the server served me iced tea. I was expecting a nice refreshing iced tea but I was given a bland and tasteless iced tea. Bleurgh. I waited for 15 mins for me to have my burger. The first food that was served to me was the Red Con Burger. I was expecting a burger that is juicy and beefy, but heck. The patty was coated in batter and deep fried. The bun was soggy with ketchup. And the Burger was over flowing with ketchup. I think the price was too much for that disappointing burger. Now the chips. I mean fries. The burger was served with fries. And I can definitely say that it was store bought. Like bought to the nearby grocery and was served with burger. The fries could use a little salt and a little bit of oil draining. The fries were soaking in oil. I finished my iced tea before the burger and I asked for another iced tea. The server asked me that I needed to pay more. And I was flabbergasted because I ordered a volcano chicken and it should be served with iced tea. The server then apologized. So next that was served was the volcano chicken. I was expecting the chicken to be a bit larger but I was disappointed. The chicken was tiny. Ahahah. TO be honest, I didn’t know where the name of the chicken came from because the chicken was not spicy at all. The chicken was dry. Not juicy at all. It was not spicy and the chicken had a confusing flavor, well, flavors. At one side the chicken was buttery. On the other side, sweet. Then it became sour and then sweet and sour. It was disappointing. It was like the chicken was used in different dishes before frying it and be served for volcano chicken. The rice that was served was dry. I left the place, paid my bill and didn’t leave tips. It was not worth it and I will probably not be coming back there…
