How I Use My Essential Oils on a Daily Basis {One year later Update}

I can’t believe it’s been a year already since I’ve been an oiler!! I did my day in the life of an oiler post last January, so I thought it would be fun to update you all about how I use everything one year later! As you can probably imagine, I’ve tried many more products since then. ;) I love trying new things, learning more about what oils can do, and just really taking charge of our health (and happiness), and that’s what has happened since we took that first scary (skeptical) step a little over a year ago when I bought our first kit.

It’s clear I’m no longer a skeptic. :)

The first thing I want to mention about essential oils, is that they are just not for when you are ill. A lot of people have that misconception. This is a lifestyle y’all!

So let’s start out the day and I’ll show you all what I typically do.

I’ll wake up and start the day with these 4 must-haves for me.

This is the same combination I’ve been using a year now, but I added EndoFlex many months ago for thyroid support. I still rub Joy over my heart, Valor on my wrists and behind ears, and the Progessense Plus on my forearms. You can read about how that particular serum has changed my life here. Remember it’s password protected so to see that it is “oilydecorchick.”

These are all of the oils that we keep on our kitchen counter.

Those are ones that we use frequently and I want to have them handy. We don’t use each one every day, but frequently enough to keep out to see! That case I ordered on Amazon, and love it! I ordered 2 of the 30 bottle cases, but they do also come in 16 too. My suggestion is to just go ahead with the 30, because I promise you will fill it up. ;)

Probably the next thing I do in the morning (after some coffee), is to fill up my water bottle. I drink a LOT of water each day. I crave it. I love it. And I love it even more with my oils added in the water.

I will choose one of those citrus oils, and put in about 6-8 drops each time I fill my water bottle. It is a 24oz bottle and is THE BEST water bottle ever. I love the grapefruit in there, and I truly believe it does help curb the appetite and boost the metabolism. Plus it just tastes delicious!

Something else in my routine, if it’s that time of the month or just a bad day…

No woman should not have this oil. Tame the dragon within you.

My favorite diffuser combination at the moment is this:

I will start that usually about mid-morning, just depends, but I LOVE the scent of these 2 oils combined. My friend actually recommended it to me, and she was right!

During homeschool we might diffuse something like citrus fresh or lemon.

And since this is truly a day in the life post, last week I started getting the funk, so I was drinking the heck out of some Thieves tea.

I like to add 4 drops of thieves, 7 drops of lemon, and honey to taste. And I LOVE this “tea!”

While I was feeling under the weather, I was also taking these oils internally, mixed in a capsule.

I would take those several times a day, apply oils liberally, and inhale Eucalyptus Globalus and Pine oil. I will leave the assumption up to you all as to whether everything worked or not. I think by posting today speaks for itself. ;)

By now, lets assume it’s after lunch time, and I’m waiting to lay Ellie down for a nap, while also contemplating taking one myself. You know, that afternoon slump?

But instead I will use these and press on! Well sometimes I will take a nap, but lately, I’m always working. I love to take a Nitro before I head to the gym too. I have to sip them though, because the rush of B vitamins goes to my head in an odd manner. So I do much better by sipping rather than slamming. I guess that’s why me and red wine get along so well! :)

There probably isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t use some Stress Away.

I crave this stuff. I need it. Kids, homeschool, work, the witching hour(s)…you get the idea. The Breathe Again I would say I use semi-daily. I just honestly love this roll-on and what it does for my nose! :)

By the way, I keep all of these oils with me at all times in my purse. It’s basically a premium starter kit, plus some more essentials like Thieves hand purifier, Thieves spray, etc. I will reapply certain oils like Joy or Valor throughout the day as needed.

Really, don’t leave home without them!

Sometimes after the gym if I am sore, or wake up with a weird discomfort in my neck, it’s Deep Relief to the rescue.

Seriously love this stuff.

And now we’re getting into nighttime…

Ahhhh zzzzzzzz.

If you’re anything like me you love sleeping. I LOVE sleeping. Some days I just wish I could sleep all day. Not because I want to avoid life, but because I love it so much. Ha!

But anyway, these are my favorite oils to diffuse at night.

I love Cedarwood on it’s own, and Cedarwood and Lavender together. I also dearly love Idaho Balsam Fir mixed with either of those 2 oils. If you want some good rest, then TRUST ME.

These other 2 roll-ons I’ve been using religiously also since I first started using Young Living.

Again, TRUST ME. :)

I use both of those on me, and the kiddos each night.

We also love Sacred Frankincense so much too.

Emma particularly loves this one at night, so we rub it on her, and put in her diffuser.

We also put Thieves on both kids’ feet at night. And we go through the Thieves hand purifiers like nobody’s business.

Now in this post I’m not getting into the skincare, body products etc because those will come later in a different post. We use MANY Young Living products and couldn’t be happier. Really. Like I said previously, it’s a lifestyle.

Don’t forget I wrote recently about ALL of the supplements and other products we use regularly too, so check that out if you haven’t seen it yet. We all drink NingXia daily as part of our routine, and I go into further detail about that in that post.

So I think that’s about it for the latest edition of my day in the life as an oiler. It’s a fun life!! :) Remember things are constantly changing, no day is the same, so just adjust accordingly. And by all means, just use what you have!

If you’re ready to take the plunge and make the best decision ever, remember this is the last week to get my January promotion where I will send you some wonderful resources and freebies when you order your first premium starter kit!
