Houndstooth and floral from eShakti

eShakti recently sent me this beautiful houndstooth and floral skirt, which combines structured fabric and an airy pattern, making it the perfect transitional piece.

If you aren't familiar with this brand, eShakti is a India-based clothing manufacturer with customer service offices in New York and California, that offers high-quality pieces completely custom made to your own measurements and manufactured under ethical conditions. You can read a little more about the company here, and see previous dresses I have worn from the same brand here and here. Despite the long distances the clothing has to travel, shipping has been speedy and I have been impressed with the attention to detail in the manufacturing process. (Well-sewn linings, little details like snaps in shoulder straps to keep your bra in place, etc.)

I accidentally shrunk the heck out of that pinstripe top up top, so I ended up trading the first, breath restricting ensemble for this comfier version. (The little dryer mishap also gave me an excuse to order this button up, which has been on my wish-list.)

No, that is not a litter of kittens in my purse. It's just wrinkled as hell, from residing in my disaster of a closet.

Skirt: c/o eShakti (exact here, and on sale!) Button up: thrifted (similar here and here) Cardigan: JCrew (exact here - on sale! Similar here) Beaded tee: JCrew (old - similar here and here) Pumps: Jessica Simpson Calie (here) Flats: ASOS (sold out - similar here and here)
Faux ostrich satchel: The Limited (old - similar here)
