Sweet cherry pie for Music inspired #sundaysupper

I love this song and I love pies. What a perfect match!!


Such a sweet surprise Tastes so good Make a grown man cry Sweet cherry pie oh yeah!

We need

For the pastry:

350 g. flour.
1 teaspoon salt.
1 ½ teaspoon of sugar.
200 g. cold butter.
7 tablespoons of cold water.

For the filling:

1 kg. fresh pitted cherries.
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2/3 cup sugar
4 tablespoons cornstarch
2 gelatine sheets.

Step by step.

1. Mix the flour, salt and sugar in a bowl. With a fork, incorporate the cubed butter. 2. Continue mixing until the dough until the mixture resembles small crumbs. 3. Add the water. You may need more or not need it all. The key is that the dough is compact but not sticky. 4. Preheat the oven to 180 º. Divide the dough into two equal parts and put them in the refrigerator, wrapped in plastic wrap. 5. For the filling, combine all the ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until the mixture appears jelly-like. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
To assemble pie: On a floured surface, roll out the pie dough to fit into the pie dish. Place the filling inside the pie and cover with more rolled dough.
Bake for 35 minutes and enjoy!!
