Skittle nail art with Essie First Timer

Happy Friday, lovelies! I spent about two hours swatching the other day (which I literally never do, I always just wear polishes like a normal non-blogging person and then blog about them later haha) and after I was done I wanted to do some nail art that was fun and easy and not too time-consuming.
I also didn't really want to put too much thought into what I was doing and instead just do all the things I love the most right now, so I grabbed all of my favorite things: nail foils and square studs (both from Born Pretty Store), glitter, and my striping brush. Then I went to WORK.

For my base, it didn't take me very long at all to decide what I wanted to use. This AH-MAY-ZING green is Essie First Timer, which my sister loaned me (along with In the Cab-ana) a couple weeks ago because I was basically crying over the fact that she had it and I didn't. This color is amazing (if you own Essie Mojito Madness, it's in the same color family but much lighter and brighter) and the formula was perf - two easy coats.

While the polish on my pointer finger was still tacky, I applied the nail foils (I will eventually do a tutorial for what these look like when you're applying them since I had a couple requests but for now you can probably find something on YouTube if you're curious!). On my middle finger I stuck square studs into the polish while it was still pretty wet.

The hearts on my ring finger were freehanded with a striping brush and Sally Hansen Fancy Fuchsia (one of my all-time favorites). The glitter gradient is Shimmer Polish Tracy, which is a gorgeous mix of gold and holographic hex glitter, bronze and brown and gold microglitter, and short gold bar glitter. I love this polish, the gradient it creates is so pretty and the colors in the glitter mixture make it look kind of like sand. REALLY SPARKLY sand.

That's all for today! What do you guys think of these?
