Jim takes a bath

Jim has been a bit stinky lately and after a particular smelly cuddle the other day I decided it was time he had a bath. So yesterday morning I filled up couple of bowls of water and set to the task of washing a very smelly rooster.
Jim took the whole thing pretty well, he wasn't too crazy about having his tail feathers washed but other than that he took it all in his stride. I bundled him up in a towel afterwards and buffed up his comb and wattle with some vaseline to make him extra handsome. He likes having his comb massaged so I think this was his favourite part! As it is stinking hot here in Perth at the moment he escaped the blow drier and quickly dried off running around the garden, on a cooler day I would love to give him a blow dry and see how puffy his beautiful feathers get!
Please note I grew up showing rare breed poultry so I know how to give a chicken a bath! If you want to give your feathered friend some spa treatment please do some research first, chickens can drown very easily.
