Colorado Rainy Day Wedding

Austin and Shelby met in Junior High School. By the 10th grade he told her, “I’m going to marry you one day”. Years later, on May 14, 2013 to be exact, Austin proposed to Shelby and on October 9, 2014 he did what he said he would and they became husband and wife.

Of course, while the day itself was perfect emotionally, the weather was not. In fact, the day of their wedding Colorado was under a severe storm warning with crazy rainfall and flooding throughout the state. No surprise, shortly after the groomsmen pictures, the skies opened up and the rain came down, and continued all through the night.

Nothing could dampen Shelby and Austin’s spirits though, including when the power went out shortly after the couple’s first dance. But with the help of a strong video light and the enthusiastic and rhythmic clapping of their guests, the traditional garter and bouquet toss went off without a hitch.

And what great stories they’ll be able to tell their kids about their quirky, Colorado rainy day wedding!
