Is Rachel Roy's High End Fashion Line About To Close?

It sounds like all is not well for Rachel Roy. Last week the Jones Group, the parent company who produce her eponymous line, confirmed that has discontinued the collection. According to sources, the decision was made after the designer presented her autumn/winter 2014 collection last month, which is said to not be in line with Jones’s overall strategy.

This season marks the label’s 10th anniversary so the timing couldn’t be worse. Rather than celebrating, the news will definitely leave the Rachel Roy team worried, as Jones holds a 50 per cent take in the business so its decision to end their partnership will certainly put the brand in a precarious situation. Saying that, in an interview with WWD recently Roy hinted that all was not well with Jones’, revealing that she’d be prepared to produce the collection herself somehow.

The only upside is that it has confirmed that it will continue to support Roy’s contemporary line, Rachel Rachel Roy, which is currently sold exclusively at Macy’s.
