Little Polynesian Resort, Rarotonga

I couldn't wrap up my Cook Island coverage without mentioning the superb resort we stayed with. We had the privilege of spending a week at the Little Polynesian Resort, which to our amazement on arrival, we found had upgraded us into an overbeach bungalow. The description couldn't be any more fitting as the beach is literally just on the doorstep. It's hard to describe just how surreal it is to wake up to an unrestricted view across a sparkling turquoise lagoon and the distant sounds of waves crashing over the reef's edge. The Are (bungalow) was impressive in itself - built in traditional Cook Islands architecture style with high ceilings, mahogany floors, and great attention to detail too, as the doors and trims all featured hand carved imagery. I must admit that the aspect I probably enjoyed the most was actually the bathroom (always ultra fussy about this). It was spacious, sleek and modern with even a rainshower included. True luxury indeed. It's also worth mentioning that the Little Poly is more of a boutique resort, with only 14 Ares available, it feels just a little more private and that much more exclusive, which suited me to a T.

Already planning my next trip trip here.
