Rebecca & Mike | A Sophisticated Richmond Love Shoot

I love urban spaces for portrait sessions– they allow for an extra level of depth, texture, shadow, and romance! This Richmond love session is extra special– because the bride & groom knew their wedding day would be jammed packed, leaving less time for day-of portraits, they galavanted around town snapping portraits at all their favorite places. Their charm and beauty is only rivaled by the clean lines, nostalgic architecture, and autumnal colors of their home city!

From photographer Allison: Rebecca and Mike were planning a New Years Eve wedding and knew they wouldn’t be able to take photos during the daylight on their wedding day, so they wanted to use their engagement session as an opportunity to get photos at all of their wedding venues. We wandered around Richmond, visiting their church, St. James Episcopal Church, their reception venue, The John Marshall Ballrooms, their rehearsal dinner restaurant, Rappahannock Restaurant, and the place where they had their first date, The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing.
