Been a while, so we have some catching up to do!

Oh so oh so anxious for the forthcoming debut album from Natalie Prass, who was in Jenny Lewis’s backing band previously. The influence of Jenny is definitely there, and her sound reminds me of another Jenny – Jenny O. The combination has me at the edge of my seat for January 26th.

And then some other songs I love recently, clearly on my usual lady wave:

Made in Heights “Panther”

Marian Hill - “Got It”

Laura Marling – “Short Movie”

Sufjan Stevens announced his new album will be released this year and there’s a preview with a lovely new song. So excited. *sidenote I didn’t know Sufjan had a blog, it’s hilarious.

Seth Avett and Jessica Lea Mayfield are releasing an Elliott Smith covers album! A preview of the album.

The new Panda Bear album is A , just the right amount of weird and accessible. I love listening to it while I drive home after work in the dark, it’s a little eerie and those classic Panda Bear harmonies give me all the feeeelings. I love how this song starts out so off kilter I almost wanted to skip it, but then it builds into something amazing.

And I have zero previews to go with this, but James Blake announced he’s releasing a new album this year, so clearly this will be a great year of music.
