Spring Beauty Obsessions

Oh Spring!

A time for haircuts, shaved legs and remembering that you have more than an ounce of sex appeal hidden under all 17 layers of clothing. But more importantly it’s a time for new obsessions and trends, usually of the floral and bright colored variety. Now I should probably explain that I am not one for trends.

I tend to acknowledge that they exist and then go about my day, but I am feeling more and more of a draw to trendsetting behavior. I have even went to an ombre hair color….shut the front door! I know, I know, I am basically the next Anna Wintour. With new found confidence, I have taken on the challenge of highlighting a few trends that I have had my eye on.

1. Chlorophyll H2O

Yup, you read that right. Chlorophyll. That stuff in plants, and since science wasn’t really my jam back in the day, that is about all I know without the help of the internet. Basically, it is chocked full of amazing benefits. It helps rebuild and rejuvenate red blood cells and increase energy, you know for all that working out that you are going to do! (or just pinning workouts – no judgement here!) This particular drink is made in California…and since I am partial to everything made in California (oh wait, are the Kardashian’s from there? eck…I recant my last statement), not much convincing is needed to give this a go.

2.The Contour Book The Art of Sculpting Defining

We’ve all seen it, those pictures of perfectly normal looking girls that turn into runway models with perfectly sculpted cheek and jawbones. Maybe you have even tried it! And maybe you have failed epically, like myself. Well have no fear, because there is this little bundle from heaven to save the day. It supplies you with the contouring shades and tricks to make you look like a Victoria’s Secret Angel. (now, to figure out their hair…) Also, it is a Sephora exclusive product.

3.Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Aubergine

I have been eying this for awhile now. I really love the dark plum, vampy colors for lips, but way to scared to try it myself. I eventually gave in and tried this Matte Creme Lip Crayon. Oh my! Love at first sight!! I also got a matching gloss to accent it and give it alittle dimension. This crayon goes on smooth, and is a build-able color. It made my lips look fuller and amazing!!! The color is gorgeous and fun. If only I didn’t have the burning worry that I had lipstick on my teeth….Bite Beauty makes all their products with food-grade (and gluten-free) ingredients, which is kinda comforting knowing, and then makes you wonder why you have never thought about that before.

To dark for you? No Worries, try Almay Butter Kiss Lipstick. I have the Berry in Medium and it is still sheer enough to wear as a lip balm. I usually grab it when I want to add alittle color, but not be obsessed with checking the mirror every ten seconds to make sure it looks okay.

4. Formula X Nail Polish in Cocoa Bisque

Know for being chip-resistant and super shiny, Formula X brings this color (which is also close to Pantone’s Color of the Year) to the party. It’s fast drying and long wearing, which is REALLY all you want in a nail polish, right? This shade is office appropriate and neutral enough to not clash with your new beautiful cheekbones and lips!

There you have it folks! Hopefully you found something new try this upcoming season.

What trends are you hoping to try soon?
