I’ve mentioned before that I often feel the most empowered when I’m completely covered head to toe. To me, it isn’t about how much skin you show that makes you appealing, it’s the way you carry yourself and the confidence you exude when you’re wearing something you’re comfortable in that garners the most attention. For some, it could be denim shorts and a white tee. For others, like me, it could be a navy wool coat and thigh high suede boots.

Believe it or not, but this is one of my lazy outfits. I wear this when I’m so busy that I don’t have time to even think about putting together an appropriate outfit for important meetings. The lightweight nature of this coat makes it thin enough to wear indoors yet warm enough to keep me warm outside, so usually I won’t even remove my coat when I arrive, opting to keep my simple jeans and shirt a hidden mystery underneath.

As Anna Dello Russo once said, “Lesson number eight: wear coat as dress”. Check.
