I’m back into amateur drama mode this week, as Pantomime rehearsals kicked off on Monday night, and will be keeping me busy three nights a week from now until the end of January, with only a short break for Christmas. It’s likely to mean a little less time blogging, a little less time with the family, but a whole lot more fun on stage with a really fun group of people. Seriously – I think I spend the whole time at rehearsals either smiling or laughing, and that can’t be bad can it? I even got to sing a bit this week too, learning three songs although my character only gets to join in with the final song of the show. Just try to stop me joining in from the wings though! Here’s my selection of photos from this week:
My son drew a picture of the family on the white board today.
My son pinning his sister down with a big bear hug.
Pantomime rehearsals started this week, meaning I’m now missing three bedtimes a week. I’m hoping the kids will think it’s worth it when they get to see me on stage in January, but for now they’re both missing me. There was no rehearsal this evening, so when we all settled down for stories at bedtime my son wedged himself between his father and me and reached out to cuddle both of us.
Often this is the last thing I see as I go to bed. My son often goes to sleep with his bedside light on, so as I go to bed I pop in to his room to switch it off. Thankfully he’s a good sleeper and I don’t disturb him.
As we head closer to Winter I find myself appreciating these last few crisp, sunny Autumn mornings all the more.
Had great fun playing Marble Run with my son after school today.
For the last few week’s I’ve been getting wet feet whenever it’s rained on the school run. Today I finally got around to investigating why, and found this whopping great hole in the sole of my shoe. Cue emergency shopping trip to buy new shoes.
