Home Project: Styling Your Workspace.

Admittedly, my desk hovers between ‘perfectly organised’ and ‘don’t even think about opening that drawer’ – but I always make sure it’s a good area to work in. This means it’s an airy, clean and bright place to be – work doesn’t feel like too much of a chore, and I can crack on with any DIY or craft projects I have planned.

I thought I’d share some tips for creating a well-styled workplace, so you’re always enthusiastic about getting shiiii’ done…

Stack, Stack, Stacking
I think stacking items is the way to do it when it comes to a happy, organised area. Notebooks, textbooks etc. can be piled up and used as a stand for plants, pen pots or whatever – it just gives the area a bit of “texture”, and also means you have a clear worktop.
Stack stationery on trays, jewellery in bowls, pens in mugs – be creative with your resources.

Personalise Your Walls
Even if you’re renting, I recommend finding a way that you can stick up notes and art. I use washi tape for prettiness, and so it doesn’t damage my white walls – although I usually need a bit of white tack on the back. I have loads of postcards stuck up behind my iMac and it just adds a bit of cheer! Most of mine came from Paperchase, so head there first.

Go For Greenery
Okay, so I say this every time, but a pot plant on your desk just does so much for the space. Crisp green friends really breathe life in to a room, and create a nice contrast against my bright white desk.

Find A Home For Everything
One thing I would say is to keep your desktop tidy; invest in some drawers or shelving to hold all your bits and bobs, so your desk can remain clear. I try and have a once-monthly clearout so my life doesn’t end up too cluttered. It does wonders, I tell yee.

Pops Of Colour
Inject a little colour in to your space, whether that be through wall art, washi tape or even your desktop background. I tend to keep my space pretty monochrome but I do love bursts of colour throughout the room! So Pinterest. I love little cute additions on my desk too – marble accessorises, copper wire baskets, lots of pens and stationery, candles and cute mugs.

I urge you to clear out your workspace today! If you give this a go, tag me on Instagram (@gh0stparties) and I’ll be sure to share.
