My 2014 Mid-year Review

Hello, faithful readers of Impressions of a Princess! I know it has been a while. The question is, did you miss me and my writing? I have been juggling a lot of activities lately and did not have enough energy to impress you with a witty post, hence the unwanted blog hiatus. Now that I am back, I promise to torture you with my tales from last month. For now, let’s settle for my 2014 mid-year review.

It is already June and some of us were asking, “Where did the last five months go?” We are already in the middle of the year and once again, it is nice to look back from what we did during the first half of 2014. What did we do during the first months? Did we reach our goals and deadlines? Are we still faithful to our resolutions?

BLOGGING

I told myself that I will be more active in blogging before the year started. In some way, I have followed my resolution, but there were instances when time did not agree with my schedule and energy. However, I have been attending blog events lately, which shows my increasing presence in local blogosphere.

WORKOUT

Being underweight all my life caused me to be body conscious. For more than a month now, I have been actively going to Gold’s Gym and training with my personal coach to guide me with exercises needed to gain muscle and enough weight. I am seeing results already, which make me want to continue this healthy way of living. Besides, it is very fun and exciting to shop for sportswear!

STUDYING

I have decided to pursue further studies this year on Political Science focused on Global Politics. Also, I recently enrolled in a Korean language class to have formal lessons and pass the proficiency test.

TRAVEL

Let’s travel in style!

I still travel at least once a month, but not as much as I did during the first quarter of 2014. Traveling doesn’t come cheap, so saving a lot for memorable trips around and outside the country is something that I prepare for the next half of the year.

READING

With a lot of things going on in my life, I admit I have read less titles compared last year. I am soon to hit my 2014 reading challenge though I have set a lower mark for this year. Still, better to read something than nothing.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

In my 2014 goals, I have mentioned that I wanted to be more active in the society. I am happy to let you know that I am happily engaged with various organizations now. Just last month, I attended Asian Youth Council Forum for Beyond 2015 Agenda focused on the challenges the youth are facing at these times. Also, I became a program head for an adopted Gawad Kalinga Philippines village and has been organizing events for its people. I really feel so good giving back to the society!

So far, those were the highlights of the first half of my 2014. There were some good news and others which need to be improved upon. I am happy that I have a lot of accomplishments for the last five months and I hope to continue doing more for the remaining part of the year. Will you stay with me until then?
