NY NOW Winter 2015

Twice a year hundreds of vendors and thousands of buyers, boutique owners, designers, and architects flock to the NY NOW gift show to see what’s new in the market. They showcase everything imaginable under the umbrella of Home–including, but not limited to, decorative accessories, furniture, linens, tableware, candles, and so much more. Today I’m sharing some of my favorite finds from yesterday’s trip to the gift show.

A pair of woven pendants from Roost are light and airy and would impart some nice texture to any room.
A rattan lounge chair and ottoman — perfect with a sheepskin throw.
I love how the mirror peeks through the organic wooden slab, a beautiful juxtaposition of materials.
This new dresser covered in white lacquered grasscloth from Madegoods, above, immediately caught my eye. I love its softness both in form and in finish.
Above is the same finish applied to a more rectilinear side table.

We’re always on the look out for stylish accessories. You can never go wrong with a set of leather and/or shagreen boxes!

You may have picked up on the fact that we’re kind of obsessed with accessorizing with beautiful pottery… Middle Kingdom has such a wonderful variety of colors.
Above, are some of the different forms they produce. They could go either modern or traditional.

They also have beautiful blue and white pottery which we of course love!

Another great accessory find – lacquered boxes from Pacific Connections. Perfect for styling a coffee table, entry console, or a night stand.

This was my first expo seeing furniture brand Modern History and I couldn’t help myself from swooning over their pieces. Beautifully made and of superb quality, I am eager to specify one their pieces!

A pair of demi-lunes by Modern history – I really liked the four leg design as opposed to the typical three leg.
More blue and white pottery from Three Swallows- these in particular definitely were more old word in appearance.

Wood slab furniture pieces have been trending for a while now but I loved the juxtaposition of these redwood slab tables with the brass detailing from Camilla House.

These faux horn and nickel trays from Airedelsur are a great addition to any coffee table. Today is the last day to see these finds and the other hundreds of vendors that make their way to the gift show every year! If you’re in possession of a resale certificate and find yourself in NYC it is definitely worth the trip over NY NOW.
