Harpers Happenings

Almost half way there. /omg

I figured it was about time to start documenting this belly. I have a few phone/IG snapped mirror pictures but with the weather getting nicer and my tummy expanding, it’s time to let Scot do this thing each week. We did it when I was pregnant with H starting at 6 weeks (that was adorable of me). This time my stomach has confused me a bit, pulling a Beyonce’s deflatable bump thing every few weeks. It’s been strange. One day it’s all BOOM look at me and the next it’s like, sweet burrito how was it?

Last week was a big one obviously, as we found out we are expecting a little man. What an exciting day. Scot took the day off so we could celebrate our news with the kiddo and buy a few things. Now that it’s over I can say I totally knew it was a boy but was too afraid to say so. I did the EXACT same thing with Harper. I knew she was a girl but didn’t want to be that person who is like omg my intuition is so amazing I just know. But then. And now again. It’s not so much that my intuition is amazing necessarily but I am two for two. So I don’t know. All I do know is this pregnancy has been a lot different (still sometimes barfing! At over 19 weeks! WTactualF!) and that led me to believe I was gestating a dudeman.

Harper is pretty excited. Bless her heart, I know she wanted a sister so badly. But she still claims she is so excited to have a baby brother. And I can’t wait to see their relationship. I’m an only child so seeing my kids together (ahh! so weird to say!) is something that I really, really look forward to experiencing.

Scot is over the moon. I think it was legitimately hard for him not to stand up and yell obscenities in the ultrasound room when the tech casually said “it’s a boy” (I’ve never had an excitable US tech. Not that they need to be excitable but it’s ultra awkward to pretend to just take life changing info quietly). Honestly, we were both so excited to hear whichever it was, but I think it’s natural for guys to want a son just like it’s natural for a little girl to want a sister. The good news is, everything looks great and baby is is right on track and looking healthy. He has a super cute little profile, too.

So my plan is to at least attempt to update with a tum-tum photo once a week. I want photos of this pregnancy to look back on AND it should give me the boost I need to at least wear fun maternity clothes once a week. Since I stopped doing Steppin’ Out I’ve really slacked off and really missed having a photo of me and my girl each week So here’s to trying!
