My Kind of Sewing

I don’t know if I told you guys, but my niece is having a baby! That means I’ll be a great-aunt. Again. I’m very excited, but…old much? I mean. At this rate, I will be someone’s great-great-aunt in by the time I’m 60. Like that’s legit something that could happen. I should start polishing up my Titanic stories. And start throwing words like “sonny” into my vocabulary.

ANYWAY, I’ve already got a quilt pattern picked out for her, but I stumbled upon something else that, quite frankly, I’ve become obsessed with. Spoonflower (the best, yet slightly expensive fabric website) has pre-printed pattern fabric. Like, you can cut and sew to make a purse. Or a doll. Or clothes. I won’t give away the gifts I plan on giving, but here’s a sampling of what I’m talking about. The pattern printed on the fabric is on the left and the finished product is on the right.

Dr. Who Onesie. Granted, I’m not a huge Dr. Who fan (I’ve got it on my Netflix queue – does that count?), but…hilarious! They have Star Trek ones too.

Diana Mini Camera Bag. Guys, I HAVE A DIANA MINI!!! And this looks just like it! It’s kinda small, though, so I don’t know what I’d carry in it. Change? I think it would slip out the sides. Maybe birdseed to feed some birds. AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You know I hope all the birds in all the world would just hurry up and die. For those of you who mistakenly think I’m cruel, here’s why.

Amelia Doll and Kitties. The one thing I don’t like about this is the eyes. Why are they closed? Are they sleeping? Or looking down? Long blink? WHY AREN’T HER EYES OPEN??? Maybe because you wouldn’t want to wake up with a doll staring at you? I don’t know which would be worse. But ummm….there are three kitties! I think that’s a sign that I need another kitty. Or can at least foster kittens (that’s my new push with Ryan – he’s staunchly opposed).

Baby’s Book of Computer Science. I think I should make this for myself so that I could learn something. The stuff shown in these pictures alone is a little over my head.

Cosy Racoon Pal. Racoons…who doesn’t like a cute racoon? I mean, unless they’re like knocking over your garbage or something. They have human-like hands and masks like bandits!

And there are SO MANY more. Holy crap! I just realized I could upload the front and back of Ralph and Ted and make my OWN pattern! Then you could all have your own Ralph and Ted! I think I just heard an angel sing.
