Love Report: Dragonslayer

I stumbled upon this 2011 documentary Dragonslayer, about Josh “Skreech” Sandoval - a typical dirtbag skater from Fullerton, CA. Its beautiful shot and quite tragic in a painfully average way (just watch it, its streaming on Netflix) - but my favorite bit was his GF, this un-Google-able girl Leslie Brown. Floating in a scummy world of stinky dudes, abandoned pools and bong hits, this lady channels 90s style in a way thats nearly rigid in its perfection. Red lips - at a skatepark. A collared military coat and a perfect square heel paired with red nails - at a greasy burger joint. I dont really understand how or why one maintains a sense of personal style at this level when clearly those around her are too drunk or high to care. But thats why I love her - and people like this in general. And her style is timeless. Say what you will. These high-low dresses you see everywhere are not going to look right in a few summers; give me a jersey number in a 20s silhouette. Some shopping is after the jump.
