Essie Luxeffects Nail Look - 'Stroke of Brilliance'

So yesterday I swatched and reviewed three of the glitter toppers from the Essie Luxeffects collection and today I thought I would really quickly share with you a look I've created using 'Stroke of Brilliance' (that gorgeous, chunky, piecey blue glitter) and another Essie favourite of mine, Muchi Muchi. I'll try and do a different look for each polish over the course of December to show you how much more you can do with these top coats other than just layer them in one sweep over your favourite polish.
Muchi Muchi is a shade I love to hate, it's a really milky pink hue, it's so sheer, it's great once it's on but a nightmare to apply. I've found to get the most out of the polish you need to apply at least two but preferably three thin coats of polish. With a shade like this glitter top coats really work because they hide all sorts of sins such as thickness, streakiness and dragging. I have an awful red cast around the edge of my nails here, it's because I literally just removed bright red nail polish prior to doing this look...big mistake! Sorry! I didn't particularly do anything fancy...as you can probably tell! I started with my Essie All In One base coat followed by three coats of Muchi Muchi. I popped a dot of Stroke of Brilliance glitter in the middle of my nail right toward the end before removing all (absolutely all) excess from the brush before going back over the blob and dragging it down toward the inner corner of my nail and out toward the edge, in kind of a half moon shape.
Essie polishes retail for £7.99 from Diffusion Line stockists, prices vary elsewhere.
