While Visage remain best known for the 1980 synthpop hit “Fade to Grey,” Strange was equally renowned for his fashion sense. Along with Boy George, he had a major impact on the look of the British new romantic movement in the early ’80s. Additionally, he appeared in David Bowie’s “Ashes to Ashes” music video. Friends from Duran Duran to Billy Idol are tweeting their tributes to Strange.
