As many of you who follow the blog will know, i almost always have a birthday giveaway on the blog – and since it was my bday on the weekend, well here it is!

Earlier this year i styled a series of videos for Breville kitchen appliances which i’ll be sharing over the next few months. Breville is available at all @home stores and as fans will tell you, they have so many essential kitchen gadgets that aren’t just good, they’re GREAT!

Today’s giveaway is the Breville Healthsmart Grill worth R1400

As the name suggests, it offers you the opportunity to grill food without compromising your health. I was super impressed with the non stick, easy-clean surface and that it reaches a nice hot heat really quickly, which makes it great for searing everything from porkies to steaks and sosaties.

One of the best things about the Healthsmart is how versatile it is – i grilled a steak on it, i made sosaties (both the veggies and the meat cooked beautifully) and then i made a toasted cheese sandwich (which was perfectly crispy and suitably gooey). Any extra fat slides off the grill and it’s super easy to clean – one wipe and you’re done (although the plates are removable if you prefer to let the dishwasher do the work!)

Most nights it’s just The Captain and I for supper and pretty soon Charley will start on things like sausages – and the Healthsmart Grill is exactly what would work for a quick, no mess cooking solution. And if you’re short on space, it’s a no brainer!!
