 So these days I spend most of my time in the lab. Being a cancer researcher means you're at the beck and call of your experiments. Sometimes I get super frustrated because I feel like I have no outside life and I struggle to maintain my connection to family and friends. Other times I feel honored that I'm performing research that could one day save lives. This is one of those times... Last week one of my college friends died of cancer. He had been fighting for a couple of years. I kept up with his struggles and triumphs on facebook, but wish I would have done more. He is the third friend of mine to pass away from this awful disease that doesn't care who it affects or when. I dedicate my career to you, to the others who have died, and to the ones still fighting...   Tia Lou
