5 Resolutions I’m Making for 2015

New Year’s Day is fast approaching. Are you into resolutions? I sure am. Except most of the time I make resolutions like, “Eat better chocolate.” Because life is too short for cheap chocolate. First world problems, right?

This year, I’m going to make resolutions that are a bit more meaningful. Some of them are like eating better chocolate, others will take time and effort. Will they help blogging? I’m sure they will have effects in all areas of my life.

Here goes!

Get better posture.

I’ve never had good posture, and between blogging and my lounging around the house like a lazy cat, I have developed terrible posture over the years. I didn’t realized until I saw a photo of me slouching while talking to someone how bad it had gotten. So 2015 is the year I am going to make it happen… here is what I’m actually doing…

Plan: My husband gave me 10 pilates classes to take, and all I have to do is book them, and start to work on the posture.

Hang out with people who make me want to be a better person.

The world is a hard place. There are plenty of people who will indulge in bad habits, and especially if there is an opportunity to indulge in bad habits together! It’s time to identify those toxic relationships and either change my own behavior in them or find new friends who do not bring out the worst in me.

Plan: Make an effort to make new plans with my old friends, and make new friends when I venture out.

Give more to the community.

One of the things I had always done throughout my life was volunteer work. This has fallen by the wayside the past five years and I’m feeling like I need to change that. It always feels good to do something for the community, so I’m not entirely altruistic.

Plan: Find a non-profit organization that I can help with (That is not hard. Picking one will be the hard part!)

Say “Yes” more often.

Every time someone asks me to do something, I always think of why I can NOT do it. So many times when I get cornered into actually saying, “YES” I find that it was actually an awesome experience and brought me closer to the people who reached out.

Plan: Say, “yes,” and follow through.

Start a new business.

This one I’m saving for the last, and unfortunately I have to be the most dodgy about in terms of explaining to you right now. But I have long felt like it’s time for me to do something new, and 2015 is the year I’m going to do it. I’ve thought of the concept and done some research into its viability, so now it’s just a matter of putting it into action!

Plan: Create a business plan (half way done), set up the legal entity (almost done) and set it into action.

What are YOUR resolutions for 2015?
