wedding wednesday – honeymoon

For this week’s Wedding Wednesday, I’m going to share some photos from our honeymoon. We went to Maui for a week and stayed at the Westin Kaanapali and it was sooooo amazing. The entire time we were there, we were trying to scheme ways that we could just stay there forever. The weather was pretty much exactly 85 degrees everyday and was so perfect. So here are a few shots from our week there.

Wrong island, but I had to do a “Lost” shoutout. Below is the sunrise at the top of Haleakala Mountain (volcano?) which is 10,000 feet above sea level. It was a two hour drive so we got up at about 2:30 am to drive up there and it was amaaaazing. If you are in Maui, definitely go see it. And people will tell you that it’s cold up there and to dress warm and do it. It’s seriously about 35 degrees up there and you have to stand outside for awhile to get a good spot, so dress warm.

And we got to see an amazing sunset over the water at Merryman’s which is right on the ocean. Pretty kick ass. Below is the only time Jarrod let me drive the Jeep that we rented. I think just riding around in the Jeep with the top off and seeing the beautiful scenery was my favorite thing.

We went snorkeling and the above photos are from the boat. I am a big baby and was a little nervous to do it but ended up loving it. I was freezing in the water, but Jarrod basically had to drag me back onto the boat. We rented an underwater camera, which sounded like a great idea but the dvd they gave us of our photos is full of blurry crappy photos. Oops. At least we tried. Below are some photos from the Road to Hana which is the gorgeous windy road on the northeast side of the island. There are cool stops for waterfalls and beaches and stuff. You basically first drive through the rain forest and then are driving close to the beach. And I bought a coconut on the side of the road and drank it with a bamboo straw. You’ll see it in an awkward photo below.

I posted the above photo of my fun vacation pedicure on Instagram. Several apparent foot fetishists retweeted it and responded with creepy things like “long beautiful toes!” and “love these feet.” Shudder. Lesson learned. And, since I’m the best wife ever, I rode in the cart with Jarrod while he played golf at Kapalua and took photos. I’m awesome. And he played really well and might’ve annoyed the rich guy he got paired with. Mwuahaha.

And for our last photo, I leave you with this photo I forced Jarrod to take after we got henna tattoos. We’re so damn cool.

So that was our ah-mazing honeymoon. I want to go back. Wah. How was your honeymoon / where would you like to go for your honeymoon? Or just for a vaca? I want to vaca 24/7. I need to make that happen. Powerball people – call me.
