Quiltmaker's Parade of Homes

As I settled in to write this post, I realized I haven't shared some news on the blog yet. If you follow me on social media, you probably already know this, but we recently moved into a new house we purchased early this year!
And here it is in fabric!

Quiltmaker asked me to participate in their Parade of Homes *just* as we were about to put an offer in on our home. I tried so hard not to make the connection or say it out loud to anyone, I didn't want to jinx it! But it must have been good luck to agree to the project, because we got the keys to the house just 2 weeks later.

This block was one of the first projects I sat down to sew in the new home. I just had to incorporate some of our new home's features into my fabric version, like our blue front door.

Since this is a Southern California house, the sky is blue, and since we hadn't started landscaping yet, there's no grass in the front yard.

The block was fun and easy to sew together. It is Lori Holt’s Home Sweet Home block that is featured in Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, vol. 8.

And you can find my block featured in the Sept/Oct issue of Quiltmaker's Parade of Homes.

And you can win my block, too! Check out the Quilty Pleasures Blog today to find out how.
What fabric features would you add to your Home Sweet Home block to make it more like your home? Tell us about them in the comments below. Thanks!
