Jules Cooks - Granola

Hi guys!!! It's been a long time ago since my last blog post - so I have some catching up to do ;)
In the beginning of my blog I told you there would be recipes ..... well I don't think I posted any so far - until now!! My first recipe post ;)!!

I love cooking and I am planning to share many more recipes. I will post a recipe every Thursday.

Today I made Granola - I absolutely love granola! But not the ones you buy at the stores - only homemade.
It takes some work.... but in return you get a delicious smell in your kitchen and delicious and healthier granola. Plus it's very easy to make

I based my recipe on the post on buzz geed "How To Make The Best Granola Ever"

- 3 Cups Rolled Oats - 1 1/2 Cups of Nuts, I used pistachios, walnuts and pecans - 1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil - 1/2 Cup Honey - 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup - 3/4 Tsp Salt - 2 Tbs Egg white

1. Mix the rolled oats with the nuts
2. Add Oil, Honey and Maple Syrup
3. Add the lightly beaten egg white (until it is foamy) and stir.
4. When you mixed everything, spread the mixture out on a baking sheet and bake at 300 degrees (150 Celsius) and bake for about 40 minutes. Baking time depends on your oven so check if it is not burning!

- If you don't want chunks of granola - leave the egg white out. I did it with the egg white but there weren't many chunks, but that is probably because i stirred a lot during the baking time in the oven since I was so afraid the granola was burning.

Good luck and let me know the results, hope you liked this post and if you have any suggestions let me now ;)!

See you soon
- Jules

Next Thursday I will share an Italian recipe which I learned in cooking school in Florence!
