Cascade The Skirt

... Not the beer ...

Are you guys sick of me in skirts yet? Clearly I'm not!

This little beauty is the Cascade Skirt by Megan Nielsen Patterns and it's my new favourite skirt pattern.

Megan Nielsen has carefully mastered the combination of easy sewing with a dramatic outcome. I mean this skirt demands to be worn on a Spring day skipping through a freaking meadow amiright!?!!

It's a floaty wrap-a-round skirt with a high-low hem and cut for maximum flowy-ness.

I used french seams to join the pieces together and hemmed the skirt with a narrow hem. Remember this Kimono I made a while ago? Well I loved the fabric so much that I bought some more and made this skirt out of it. It's a stunning silk from The Fabric Store.

This skirt can be made in all sorts of fabric, but I love the drape of it in a really fine silk such as the one I used.

And that's a 'wrap'! Get it!?
A super fast, no muslin required skirt that can be made in a number of hours and will make you feel like a lady. Yay for quick easy sewing!
