Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution lipstick in Glastonberry

If you caught my last

YouTube video, I talked about one of my current favourite lipwear, Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution lipstick in Glastonberry.

Here it is in all its glory, a vampish blackcurrant shade with a gloriously unique formula that makes it a hydrating matte lipstick. Uh-huh, a matte lipstick, yes sirree.

It’s my first foray into Charlotte Tilbury’s lipsticks and I am glad I went with Matte Revolution for it’s something that’s completely different from anything else I’ve tried. I crave matte lips (as do many lipstick lovers) but they are irritatingly inconvenient to wear – drying, peeling, flaking…and no amount of pre-moisturising and prepping helps. You just can’t fight that type of formula.

Matte Revolution is boldly different. Its ingredients include Lipstick Tree extract which protects lips and is a natural anti-oxidant, and Orchid Extract which soothes and hydrates for a soft, buildable cashmere finish. There is no way this baby will leave your lips parched and what’s more, it glides onto the lips effortlessly. You actually notice how different the texture feels on the lips – it’s ultra smooth and doesn’t sit on the surface like an extra thick layer.

The other winning factor about the Matte Revolution lipstick is the square, angled tip on the bullet. This unique shape mimics the shape of a lip brush for precision application. I just find it so much easier and enjoyable to use, and I get a neat finish without the need for a lip liner. See below – no lip liner used!

Apparently the formula also contains 3D glowing pigments to create the illusion of lips looking wider and fuller but I can’t say I noticed this with my lips. It’s a small thing to shrug off quite frankly and as I said, makes no profound difference.

There are 10 modern-matte signature shades to choose from in the Matte Revolution range, priced at £23 from Selfridges. I am quietly hoping more colours will be introduced in the near future. Who knows, this revolution may mark the start of something new.
